Our Pastor
Pastor Larry J. Thompson was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas by his grandparents Jesse & Mary Mosley. Raised on the poverty-stricken side of the city, Pastor Larry attended school within the San Antonio Independent School District and graduated from the Sam Houston High School in 1997.
Pastor Larry accepted his call by the Holy Spirit under the leadership of Pastor Michael S. Brown, preaching his first public sermon on November 3, 2003 at the True Vision Church. Understanding that education is paramount in proclaiming God's Word, he stepped out on faith and went to Fort Worth, Texas where he attended the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a year later moved to Nashville, Tennessee where he attended the American Baptist College.
While in seminary he attended Greater Grace Temple Community Church, serving as Assistant Pastor under the leadership of Pastor Breonus M. Mitchell Sr. In May of 2009, Pastor Larry received his Bachelors of Arts degree in Religious Studies with a minor in Pastoral Care. After graduating from seminary, he returned to San Antonio and became the Pastoral Care minister at the True Vision Church. Staying in that position for a year, he was called to the pastorate of Tree Mount Temple Church on September 17, 2012.
Pastor Larry credits every bit of his success to the Godly upbringing given to him by his grandparents, as he so often says, “My grandparents gave me a lot of things, but the best gift they ever gave me was an introduction to Jesus Christ!"
Motivated by his love for people, his love for preaching, and an undying belief that no one is beyond God's reach, God has bountifully blessed the ministry of Pastor Larry, which he shares with the three loves of his life Sanaa, Journee, & Jeriko.
